Thorn Lake can be found in South Holland, Illinois, under 30 miles from Chicago. Named after statesman, Daniel Pope Cook, Cook County is the country's second-most populous county with 5.15 million people.

The closest major airport is Chicago Midway International and is a 42-minute drive from the lake. Urgent care can be provided at Harvey Medical Center, under 10 minutes away.
