Knox Lake

Located in Oakland County, Michigan

Knox Lake is located in Oakland County, 11 miles southeast of Holly and 6.5 miles northwest of Waterford Township. On the waters, there are a few activities that fishermen and boaters can experience, as well as other outdoor recreation and leisure activities around the lake.

The Pontiac General Hospital offers medical care to anyone in need of general care or medical emergencies located 13 miles southeast of the lake.

The Oakland County International Airport features many airport services and amenities to suit any need before, during, and after flights located about 10 miles south of Knox Lake.

Outdoor Recreation

Independence Oaks County Park provides 12 miles of great outdoor recreation activities such as a beach area to go swimming or to relax, trails for hiking and biking, fishing, boating, and other amenities. There is no boat launch, but canoes, kayaks, and non-motorized boats are acceptable in this area. The park is 1,826 acres with beautiful scenery of nature and wildlife located 6.5 miles west of the lake.

Fishermen and boaters can cruise around the lake and county parks expecting to find a variety of fish such as bass, catfish, pumpkinseed, and crappie. Enjoy beautiful scenery across the waters while enjoying many outdoor activities.

Other Leisure Activities

For anyone who has a passion for golf, Shepherd’s Hollow Golf Club features a 27-hole course on 350 acres of land. The golf club offers public driving ranges, a practice center, dining, and a shop with clothing and accessories.
